Move your license to another Mac

Deactivate ClipLedge on one Mac and activate it on another, with one license per Mac.

A ClipLedge license covers one Mac, but it is yours to move whenever you like. Moving it is two quick steps: release it on the Mac you are leaving, then activate it on the new one.

One license per Mac

Your license is active on one Mac at a time. The activation ties the key to a particular Mac, so copying your settings to another Mac does not carry the license with them. To use ClipLedge on a second Mac at the same time, you buy a second license.

How to deactivate the old Mac

On the Mac you are leaving, open Settings > License and choose “Deactivate this Mac”. That releases the seat and shows your key so you can copy it to the new Mac.

How to activate the new Mac

On the new Mac, install ClipLedge, open Settings > License, paste the key and press Activate. See activate your license for the details.

New Mac, sold Mac or reset Mac

  • Upgrading to a new Mac. Deactivate on the old one, activate on the new one. Reactivating the same Mac later always returns the same seat.
  • The old Mac is sold, broken or already wiped. You cannot deactivate it yourself, so contact support with the email you bought with and we will free the seat for you.
  • Erasing and reinstalling the same Mac. The license is tied to the Mac’s hardware, so it survives a clean install; just activate again.

If a move does not go through, get in touch and we will help.
